Test Day: Chin Track Days

We recently did a test day at Barber Motorsports Park and wanted to share our experience. After searching for track days in the Southeast, we decided that Chin Track Days fit our schedule best. We registered for a Sunday track day during one of their scheduled weekends at Barber Motorsport Park in Birmingham, Alabama.

The first thing we had to do was enroll in Chin Track’s annual membership and pay $50 for the 12 month membership fee. Shortly after completing that step we received log in credentials from Chin Track so that we could register for our first event, and we selected Barber Motorsports Park since it is our local track. After registering for the event we had to send additional information to them regarding on track experience and were then assigned to the intermediate run group.

We got to Barber early that morning and signed track waivers, registered with Chin Track and went through tech with no issues. It was a simple process and it took about 10 minutes to complete everything.  The first session of the morning was something similar to parade laps so that all drivers could familiarize themselves with the track. Once that was complete we had 3-30 minute sessions in front of us.

We got tons of track time to shake down the car with the new Link ECU and Graham at Boosted Performance Tuning was available for remote tuning each session. We think we got all the kinks ironed out and are ready for our first event in a couple of weeks at Carolina Motorsports Park with GridLife.

We had a fantastic day with Chin Track Days and if you’re looking to get some track time in an HPDE format, give Chin Track a look. They’re a solid option that will help you get seat time and build your track experience.
