GridLife South Carolina Day 1 Recap
We were feeling good this morning, but that didn’t last. As we left false grid this morning during session 1 our PST brand carbon driveshaft separated at the yoke. We removed the driveshaft and replaced with an OEM driveshaft from Dewey’s car that wasn’t racing this event which allowed us to get back on track.
Since session 1 was a bust, we really pushed the car during session 2. It was challenging to get solid lap times since there was a yellow flag in turn 1 for most of the session. In spite of that, we were able to put down a 1:43.950 which was a personal best at Carolina Motorsports Park.
We had high hopes for session 3 but luck was not on our side. Thunderstorms rolled through and caused about a 40 minute delay. It was still raining during our session, but we were still able to get some seat time. Due to wet track conditions we weren’t able to break the 2 minute mark.
The weather for tomorrow is looking good and we are currently sitting in P4. We will be trying to find 2-3 more seconds before end of day. The car is running well with the new Link ECU and tuned by Graham at Boosted Performance Tuning. We also have good stopping power with the SR 21 pads and the Apollo Big Brake Kit from EBC Brakes.
GridLife will be running a live stream of the event tomorrow beginning at 8:30am EST. If you want to tune in the link below should get you there.
